My Approach
Design Philosophy
I believe that exceptional UI/UX design begins with a deep understanding of the user and ends with a pixel-perfect, functional product. My approach blends a printer's eye for detail – honed through years of experience in digital printing – with a user-centered design philosophy. I'm a firm believer in iterative design, starting with thorough user research like interviews, surveys, and competitive analysis, to uncover genuine needs. From there, I move to rapid prototyping and testing, using tools like Figma to create and refine interactive experiences. Accessibility and inclusivity are always at the forefront of my design decisions, ensuring that the final product is usable and enjoyable for everyone. I embrace a 'fail fast, learn faster' mentality, constantly iterating based on feedback and data.
Why UI/UX?
My journey into UI/UX began with a fascination for visual communication in the world of digital printing. Seeing the direct impact of design choices on the final product as well as a keen interest in computer sience sparked my passion of creating user-centered digital experiences.
Skills & Expertise
Core Skills
I'm a Figma power user, passionate about creating scalable and maintainable design systems using components and atomic design principles. My workflow is built around efficiency and collaboration, allowing me to rapidly prototype and iterate on complex UI/UX challenges. I'm proficient in all aspects of Figma, from creating pixel-perfect UI elements to building interactive prototypes and managing design libraries.
Beyond Figma, my core skills include:
User Research & Analysis
Conducting interviews, surveys, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions.
Interaction Design (IxD)
Crafting intuitive user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
Visual Design (UI)
Creating visually appealing and consistent interfaces that align with brand guidelines.
Webflow Development
Building responsive, interactive websites and landing pages.
Inspired By
I draw inspiration from a variety of sources, including the clean lines of modernist architecture, the organic forms found in nature, and the innovative user interfaces of companies like Apple and Google.
I'm also a big admirer of designers like Dieter Rams, for his emphasis on simplicity and functionality, and Don Norman, for The Design of Everyday Things and the classic Norman-Doors-Design-Foible.
Currently Learning
I'm always seeking to expand my skillset. Currently, I'm diving deeper into advanced animation techniques with Rive, exploring the possibilities of generative AI in the design process, and furthering my knowledge on Design Tokens.
Work Experience
With a foundation in digital printing, I transitioned my eye for detail and user understanding into the realm of UI/UX design.
